Tavernetti Victory Bell
The Tavernetti Bell is dedicated to the memory of Thomas Fredrick Tavernetti (1888-19340), who served as Assistant Dean in the School of Agriculture for many years.
The bell was orginally in the Spreckles Grammer School in Spreckles, California and Thomas Tavernetti attended this school. When the school was to be torn down in 1939 the bell was saved and moved to the Davis Campus.
Through the years the California Aggie Marching Band-uh! established the tradition of ringing the bell for every point scored during a home victory by the UC Davis football team
Tavernetti passed away in 1934 but his spirit for the Aggies and the University of California, Davus lives on through each Aggie victory.
